Peaceful? Or not so much?
Peace is more than just the absence of conflict. One can be in the thick of a fight and be filled with peace. Likewise, another can be sitting on a tropical island sipping pina coladas and waiting for the evening to head to the local casino tourist trap and be swallowed hole with dark, empty feelings.
This is because peace comes directly from God, the One who created us. Peace does not spring forth from our perception of how life should be. God has given each of His guidance, and the extent at which we follow that guidance becomes the extent at which our hearts remain peaceful.
“When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild.”
Just to letyou know, things are bad in the economy right now, and…
the price of oil is pretty high, and…
the price of food is certainly not going down, and…
our country seems to be in a state of unrest right now, but…
it doesn’t matter.
You don’t have to let your circumstances control the way you think or how you treat others or whether or not you feel joyful.
So smile tonight, and know that someone loves you.
I just wanted you to know that despite the stupid web sites I’ve read and despite the people that annoy me and despite the stress that I’ve gone through in the last few weeks and even though my basketball team got pounded on Monday night, I’m really joyful right now.
Now, I’m proving that via this picture.
And the reason I’m so joyful is because I serve a super amazing, risen Savior, I’m married to the wife of my dreams who loves me and most importantly, loves that super amazing risen Savior I just mentioned, I have a handful of friends who always brighten my day person to person or through technological advancements (cell phone, blog, facebook, or email), A church family who I cannot tell you how much I love being apart of their lives, and last night our team pounded the team we lost to a few weeks ago. I mentioned it here and here.
Life is good.
I’m going to the dentist office today at noon. This does not make me happy.
We won our basketball game last night, 52-40. This makes me happy!
