The following is a conversation between my wife Carie and I after we found out we forgot to buy pickles at the grocery store:

Marty:  What has gone wrong?! (expressive)
Carie:  Pickles weren’t on the list.
Marty:  I should have put them on the list.
Carie:  You didn’t make the list.  I did.
Marty:  I know, but I’m just taking the blame away from you and onto myself.
