When the word "utopia" was coined, there was a sense implied by the construction and orgin of the words that made it up that implied it was both ideal and impossible at the same time.
I believe that there will be a utopia, but not in this life. I think that this utopia requires people who are ready to be perfect citizens, and I don't think we will be made perfect citizens in this life. Seriously? If they let anyone I've ever met into heaven, we would just ruin it.
I think we're being prepared for it in this life. I think we'll be (in some limited sense) perfected as we enter the next.
There is cleary a good and a bad, a right and a wrong, and we can be good or bad people... But a utopia?
We may as well try to explain omniscience, omnipotence, all the rest. Our puny little brains just aren't ready to get very close to them.

I've never been good a trying to fit into the super christian mold. The most difficult, painful job i ever had was working at a christian bookstore..simply because alot of it felt really fake, and there was almost no real connection with people, at least not on a level that felt natural to me, but there was a whole lot of talking about the right music, right bible...For me i love to fellowship and be with people- relate in a real way....
