Idea Nation

I need some help.  Carie and I are on a mini vacation this week, because she has off from school, and I’m taking a few days to hang out with her.  We’re looking for some creative things to do around the Central Massachusetts area.  We decided not to go anywhere because we’re going away from a few weeks later on, so this just leaves the options of hanging out at the house (which we’ll no doubt be doing to some extent) or seeing the area a bit more.  But I’d like to do some creative things in the latter category.

So what do you got for me?  Any suggestions for things to do?

Ideas please.

  2. If you are looking for a nice (long) drive. I would suggest the mohawk trail. head out 2 west and just keep going. Hike around Mt. Greylock, visit the lee prime outlets, visit the Mass Museum of Contemporary art (Mass MOCA), or visit the bridge of flowers in Shelburne falls.

  3. there’s some big gorge or something, too, of of 290W where it meets 395, I think. it’s pretty cool.

  4. I second the Mohawk trail idea. It’s something you can even do on a rainy day. And the bridge of flowers is small, but really cool. It’s in a tourist-y type town with some restaurants, shops, and I think a few small galleries.

  5. I recommend going to the Roadhouse Cafe ( http://www.roadhousecafe.net/ ) in Belchertown. The food is very very good.

  6. Also, Katie recommends driving on Route 56 between Paxton and Leicester. She says route 56 going by the Kettlebrook reservoirs is very beautiful.

  7. Wachusett Meadow in Princeton and Walden Pond in Concord are some of our favorites.
If you find nothing else to do, you can come watch the fox babies in our backyard.. a
mother red fox just had a BIG litter and they are sooo cute to watch!!!

  8. See Australia!! Oh no wait – you already did that!
