Stuff yourself silly

Nov 19 2008

The day is upon us.  The day that we are so thankful, we stuff ourselves silly and watch the Lions lose again.  Besides turkey…

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?

  1. Thanksgiving isn’t for another week so it’s only nearly upon us.

It’s a toss up between pumpkin pie and scalloped potatoes.

  2. Thanksgiving should be once per month. My favorite is candied yams/sweet potatoes or sweet potatoe caserole.

  3. I love that last bite on the first serving.
At that point you’re not feeling like that guy in the Monty Python movie who was so big he exploded. (It’s just a teeny little mint.) You can still hold onto the delusion that you’re not a hopeless glutton.
But that last bite, when choreagraphed correctly, it’s got a little bit of everything… a hunk of dark meat, even a piece of skin, a dollop of mashed potato, a hunk of stuffing, some gravy somewhere… A little piece of heaven, that last bite, a medly of all that is good in the world.

  4. I’m thankful that we don’t live in Michigan anymore and don’t have to claim the Lions as “our” team.
    GO PATS!

  5. shoot, I totally thought it was next week. I met another US expatriate the other day and he didn’t know either.

but it would have to be my mother’s broccoli cassarole

  6. i’m supposed to have a favorite!?!
    Crap!

i’m with Al. Once a month; kind of like the way the Baptists do communion. Maybe that was their idea when they started that tradition; solemn yet celebratory? Somewhere along the line they forgot to celebrate.
