Originality

Sep 25 2008

I love the blog world.
I held the 2008 Bloggle awards recently here at martyholman.com, and while
I was checking out the nominees for the award “Best Blog Post”, I began
searching through all my favorite posts over the last 6 months.  Google
Reader
makes this easy by allowing me to star my favorite posts as I read them.
One thing I learned however is how much of the content of my favorite posts were not original
to the author of the post.
And by the end of looking through my 300 starred posts, I narrowed them down
to about 30 which I thought were absolutely amazing.
But as I scrolled through the 30, I realized that 20 of them were not actually
written by the author, but simply used (no doubt with permission) from another post.
Now I’m glad that this is being done, as it allows me to read posts that I otherwise
would have never read, but it also makes me wonder…

Who’s original?

  2. recently = yesterday?

also, you’re totally right up there with Darren and Rachel now that a World has consumed you. But at least your world doesn’t have orks and trolls and you don’t have to miss out on monopoly for a raid.

    peace out

  3. His World just has a bunch of Christians and people online trying to have a voice. Also RAchel and I don’t interact with orcs and trolls cause they are part of the Horde and we are both members of the Alliance. We hang out with Night Elves and Draeni . . IMO they are cooler than bloggers.

Also, I bet you could get a blogging raid together. Like get 25 of your closest blogger friends online at the same time and have a comment raid, where for 4 hours all you do is write and comment on everyone else’s writing. Raid certain peoples blogs . . collect huge hit numbers as loots. I think Fellowship should have something like that.

Also, I keep trying to contact the Ayn Rand counceling hotline in Holden and no one is picking up. Did FEllowship drop that program?!?!
