For me it’s a three way tie between With Or Without You, I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, and Sunday Bloody Sunday.
This post is clearly just bait laid out to get me to log a response. I would argue that it isn’t a fair question. They have over a dozen domestically released original albums (not including B sides, fan club releases, etc.) spanning almost 30 years and several genres. If you specified a decade or a style, or maybe even a best overall album, MAYBE you could make an argument with some degree of confidence. But selecting a single song as their “best”…almost impossible.
I like Sunday Bloody Sunday, myself. Especially the parody version in which our fearless leader does the lyrics.

Perhaps “Your favorite” would be more accurate Clay. BY the way, hows your site going? Some big hits yet? Any from Martyholman.com?
Ian, great songs!!! I think mine might include “All because of you” and possibly a few from the album “All that you can’t leave behind.”
This is possibly their best music video in my opinion: http://youtube.com/watch?v=JQ4j6JMLLLo&feature=related
as a proud owner of all of their albums.. and a pile of singles:
mine is definitely “one”
with or without you is a strong runner up
ps. all because of you isnt an album.. its on the how to dismantle an atomic bomb albume
I think the Rattle & Hum Soundtrack often gets overlooked… There’s some pretty amazing stuff there. (Is that where the version of “I still haven’t Found What I’m Looking for” has the gospel choice backing them up… that might be my fave.) Other cotenders: “Love is Blindness” and “Gloria”… Is there any moment finer, in the history of pop music, than that moment after the little guitar solo, after the 1…2….3 count, with that perfect harmony?

I guess it depends on the decade/era, and what U2 was “into” at that point, but my fave is “Until the End of the World.” A great lyrical conversation from Judas Iscariot’s point of view, even if it is fanciful. Sounds great live, too…
Okay, random person you don’t know commenting. The best U2 that I have heard is probably “Bad” From “the unforgettable fire.” but “Hawkmoon 269″ is a very very close second (Rattle and Hum)
sunday bloody sunday really cool…………………………………………

For me,it’s very hard to decide wich one is the best, but I’d go for #1″ Where the streets have no name” (it’s a “magic-heavenlike song)#2 “until the end of the world”(whoah it makes u feel go-to the sky”) and #3 “one tree hill”(kinda “biblical post-earth one”)…:)
